What Will Your Results Tell You?

A breakdown of your kidney test and actionable follow up steps:

The kidneys play an important role in your body. They remove waste from your blood that’s then excreted through your urine. In addition to blood filtration, the kidneys also help maintain ion concentration and pH balance and manage water retention.

If you have a problem with your kidneys, this finely tuned system is thrown out of balance, triggering health issues. That’s why an at-home kidney test is essential for tracking your health. Monitoring kidney function with home test kits can pinpoint issues that may require lifestyle modification. For instance, you can overtax the kidneys with a high-sodium diet heavy on processed foods, overuse of pain medication, lack of sleep, inadequate water consumption, or drinking too much alcohol.

True Marker’s blood test for kidney function gives you the information you need to take control of your kidney health. We provide a PDF file with a complete results report you can share with your doctor; if needed, we’ll also supply treatment recommendations.

What Will Your Results Tell You?

Valuable insight to help optimize your health

Taking a kidney function test at home is one of many ways to stay on top of your health with True Marker. Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely, the absence of disease. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive set of at-home test kits to enhance your overall wellness.

Our general health tests help monitor important biomarkers for organ function, hormone balance, and the presence of vitamins and minerals in your body. These test kits can reveal any potential problems, putting the power in your hands to take action and progress towards a healthier you.

There are different ways to measure your kidney health. Here's why they matter for you:

Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)

BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) is a waste product from protein breakdown which is later excreted in the urine. A high BUN indicates uremia which can either be from dehydration or from poorly functioning kidneys.

Creatinine Jaffe (Cr)

Creatinine is an additional waste product made by the muscles and protein breakdown. Creatinine also passes through the blood and is excreted in the urine like urea. A high creatinine level indicates poorly functioning kidneys.

BUN/Cr Ratio

BUN/Cr is a ratio that is calculated to help explain elevations in levels which can be attributed to certain diseases.

eGFR

eGFR is a calculation that is done to determine how well the kidneys are functioning.
