A breakdown of your metabolism test and actionable follow-up steps

Metabolism is the engine that powers your body. The metabolic process takes food and turns it into energy that gets us through each day with strength and vitality. True Marker’s at-home metabolism test is a valuable tool for maintaining your metabolism.

Our metabolism test kit measures the three hormones that regulate the metabolic process: TSH, cortisol, and testosterone. These hormones work together to control your metabolism by regulating your weight, energy levels, and mood. True Marker makes metabolic testing at home simple and streamlined, with results delivered in 3 days. You also get a comprehensive PDF report of your results that you can share with your doctor.

Insight Into the Way Your Body Works

Taking care of your health isn’t just about avoiding disease—it’s ensuring your total well-being mentally, socially, and physically. Our metabolism home test is an ideal way to track your overall wellness.

True Marker’s general health tests help monitor important biomarkers for organ function, hormone balance, and vitamin and mineral deficiencies. These tests can reveal any potential problems with your health, and it’s recommended that you take most health tests on an annual basis. Enjoy the convenience of at-home testing.

There are different ways to measure your metabolism. Here's why they matter for you:

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

TSH helps regulate thyroid function through the production of thyroid hormones, free T3 and free T4, which help control your metabolic rate and how your body uses energy. TPO antibodies may suppress thyroid function and can also be indicative of certain diseases.

Cortisol

Cortisol is a stress hormone that regulates the level of fat and glucose stores in your body as well as the release of these stores for energy. Cortisol level changes can lead to changes in energy, weight, blood sugar levels, etc. If your cortisol level is too high it can lead to Cushing syndrome, and if your cortisol level is too low it can lead to Addison’s disease.

Elevated cortisol levels can lead to headaches, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, memory difficulty, heart disease, and digestive disorders.

Testosterone

Testosterone is a steroid hormone used to regulate the development of secondary sex characteristics and fertility. The unbound version of testosterone (free testosterone) is the active form of the hormone.

Glucose

Your glucose level is a measure of your sugar level at the time of testing. A high level can be indicative of diabetes.
